UNI Dicht
The UNI Dicht series is PFLITSCH's modular cable gland system, designed for a wide range of industrial applications. Thanks to an extensive range of components and configurations, UNI Dicht cable glands can be adapted to requirements concerning sealing, EMC protection, chemical resistance, explosion protection (ATEX), and protection against bending and tensile stress. The system consists of a gland body and a replaceable sealing insert, which allows for creating solutions individually tailored to a given cable and application.
Characteristic features of UNI Dicht cable glands
Complete configuration flexibility
UNI Dicht consists of over 6,000 elements that can be combined into more than 20,000 application variants. Thanks to the replaceable inserts, the user can match the shape, size, material, and function to a specific application - for example, for round, flat, or pre-assembled cables, multiple cables at once, or for a special application (AS-i, pneumatics, etc.).
Wide range of materials and threads
Cable gland bodies are available in versions made of nickel-plated brass, stainless steel (AISI 303/316), aluminium, and plastics (PVDF, PC). The following threads are supported: metric (M4–M120), Pg (Pg 7–Pg 48), NPT, inch/Whitworth, CTG. This makes it possible to select a material for the environment (e.g., chemically aggressive, hygienic, outdoor) and a thread for a specific enclosure or installation.
Seals resistant to environmental factors
Sealing inserts are produced from TPE, TPE-V, or silicone, with the option of special custom variants. A correctly chosen seal can ensure protection up to IP68 (10 bar) and IP69, as well as resistance to chemicals, UV, temperature, and cleaning agents.
Multi-hole and split inserts
By using the appropriate insert, UNI Dicht allows multiple cables to pass through a single cable gland, including cables with installed connectors - thanks to split inserts (versions with a side or central cut). This results in space savings, easier maintenance, and eliminates the need to disconnect cables.
Increased protection against bending and tensile stress
Versions are available that improve cable safety in applications exposed to vibrations, movement, or high forces, with:
- a spring shield (UNI Flex Dicht) - for cables subjected to dynamic bending
- a TPE conical sleeve (UNI Bending Dicht) - which protects the cable exit point
- inserts with clamping claws (UNI Clamping Dicht) - providing resistance to tensile forces up to 500 N
Possibility of integrating EMC and ATEX functions
UNI Dicht is also available in versions with 360° shielding and as cable glands that comply with ATEX requirements — for use in explosion-hazard zones.
