Druseidt - Flexible high current air- and water cooled connections
- Druseidt - flexible high current connections for air- and water cooling
Flexible high current connections for air- and water cooling by Druseidt are high-current components specially designed for resistance and welding applications. These products combine extreme flexibility with excellent current conductivity, enabling efficient transfer of high current even in the case of continuous movement of welding arms, joints, or robotic workstations.
Range of Druseidt flexible high current connections for air- and water cooling
Druseidt manufactures flexible connectors for various applications inside welding guns and welders, both for series production and as spare parts, according to drawings or samples.
Laminated flexible connectors They are made of standard copper foils with a thickness of 0.10 mm or 0.20 mm in a pressure-riveted design. In the pressure riveting process, the layered foils are riveted under pressure, and end caps or cover plates are used at the ends as contact surfaces. Electron beam welded versions are also available.
- Used where current-carrying connections in welding guns must move in a maximum of two dimensions (not transversely to the foil).
- Electron beam welded design maintains the desired spring effect of the copper material, as the welding process is carried out without significant heat input.
- Available with air- or water-cooled contact areas.
- Properly designed in terms of dimensions and materials to ensure the longest possible service life.
- Can be manufactured with additional protective lamellae against splashes made of stainless steel or with extended connection plates for unwinding movements.
- For resistance welders, available in cross-sections up to 2000 mm² and more, with connection surfaces up to 200 mm wide.
Highly flexible braided connectors cooled by air They consist of several layers of highly flexible copper braids with a single wire diameter of 0.10 mm. At the ends, seamless copper contact sleeves are crimped under high pressure without the use of other materials. The connection areas are expanded towards the strands as kink protection.
- Required where current connections in welding guns must move in all three dimensions.
- The conductor structure and braiding angles are designed to perform movements.
- Proper dimensioning allows for very good service life.
- For resistance welding applications, available in connection widths up to 120 mm or wider and in cross-sections up to approximately 4000 mm².
- Versions with perforated or non-perforated protective hoses are also available.
Round stranded cables cooled by air Insulated or non-insulated flexible cables made of bare round copper strands with a wire diameter of 0.10 mm. All contact areas are equipped with seamless, soldered tubes made of electrolytic copper.
- The standard insulation consists of a flexible perforated hose for better heat dissipation.
- The special design of the conducting strands combined with kink protection at the ends of the contact areas ensures a long service life of the cables.
- The permissible current carrying capacity complies with DIN EN ISO 5828. These values are based on a temperature increase of 60 °C and contact areas mounted on water-cooled busbars.
Single-core cables cooled by water The standard wall thickness of the hose is about 4.5 mm, but for special applications requiring very high flexibility, hoses with reduced wall thickness are available. Available in cross-sections up to 1000 mm². The connection between the contact ends and the conductor strand is made by a solderless crimping process.
- Guarantee optimised electrical resistance and low current losses.
- The design of the conductor strands and high-quality water hoses provide excellent flexibility and mechanical stability.
- Available in various standard connector configurations (see catalogue).
- Can be customised for the customer's installation situation, also with non-standard cable ends, samples, or drawings.
- Water-cooled hoses can also be pre-bent or have a different wall thickness than standard for appropriate order quantities, which can increase the service life of the cables.
- Hose properties: solid, flexible rubber hose, non-conductive, suitable for water temperatures up to +70 °C, dielectric strength 5 kV.
- Operating pressure: max. 6 bar, test pressure: 10 bar.
