Braids, ropes and cables – insulated and non-insulated Druseidt offers specialized conductive products for applications in power engineering, industrial automation, rail vehicles, machinery, and high-current installations. The available wires, ropes, and tapes offer various degrees of flexibility (from standard to extremely flexible) and are available both in non-insulated (bare) versions and with insulation made of PVC, silicone, PFA, or TPE-U.

Highly flexible braided copper tapes
Made from soft annealed copper ETP1 wires according to DIN EN 13602, available as bare or tinned versions. Braided as a tube, then rolled flat to the specified width. Lay lengths and braid angles are selected for optimal flexibility and processing. Cross-sections and strand constructions can be tailored to customer requirements.

  • Material: Soft annealed copper ETP1 wires according to DIN EN 13602.
  • Single wire diameter: From 0.05 mm to 0.10 mm, depending on cross-section.
  • Surface: Optionally bare or tinned.
  • Available: In coils, on one-way or plastic spools, or wooden drums.

Flexible braided copper tapes 14-70 mm2 (similar to DIN 72333 part 3)
Made from thicker single wires (0.16 mm or 0.20 mm). Used for connections without special flexibility requirements, e.g., earth straps or earth connectors for starter batteries.

  • Material: Soft annealed copper ETP1 wires according to DIN EN 13602.
  • Single wire diameter: 0.16 mm or 0.20 mm.
  • Surface: Optionally bare or tinned.
  • Available: In coils, on one-way, plastic (standard K160/K355), or wooden drums.

Flexible, dimensionally stable copper braids 10-140 mm2 / 25-240 mm2
Braided as a tube, then rolled flat to the required dimensions. The special rolling process ensures tighter tolerances and pronounced edges, providing a dimensionally stable design. Ideally suited for automated processing, e.g., for welded connections.

  • Material: Soft annealed copper ETP1 wires according to DIN EN 13602.
  • Single wire diameter: 0.16 mm or 0.20 mm (flexible, dimensionally stable); 0.15/0.16/0.20 mm (compact, dimensionally stable).
  • Surface: Optionally bare or tinned (flexible, dimensionally stable); bare (compact, dimensionally stable).
  • Available: In coils, on one-way, plastic, or wooden drums.
  • Construction features: Dimensionally stable design with pronounced edges.

Braided aluminium tapes
Braided from wires with a single wire diameter of 0.30 mm. Delivered as yard goods.

  • Material: Soft annealed AL 99.5 wires.
  • Single wire diameter: 0.30 mm.
  • Surface: Bare.
  • Available: In coils, on one-way or plastic spools.

Highly flexible braided stainless steel tapes
Used wherever copper does not offer sufficient resistance (e.g. chemical or shipbuilding industries).

  • Material: Soft annealed stainless steel wires, material no. 1.4401.
  • Single wire diameter: 0.10 mm.
  • Surface: Bare.
  • Available: In coils, on one-way or plastic spools.

Tubular braids for covering and shielding
Copper shielding braids in various diameters to provide safe EMC shielding for improved electromagnetic compatibility or protection from electric and magnetic fields. Installation by expanding, compressing, and sliding onto cables or components.

  • Material: Soft annealed copper ETP1 wires according to DIN EN 13602.
  • Single wire diameter: From 0.10 mm to 0.30 mm, depending on cross-section.
  • Surface: Optionally bare or tinned.
  • Available: In coils, on one-way or plastic spools.
  • Function: Electromagnetic shielding (EMC).

Flexible PVC-insulated copper tapes 10-210 mm²
Composed of bare, soft annealed copper ETP1 wires over-moulded with a flexible, self-extinguishing, lead-free PVC compound. Technical insulation properties and good flexibility enable broad application. Other insulation colors or halogen-free versions available.

  • Conductor: Copper ETP1 braid according to DIN 13602, bare, soft annealed.
  • Single wire diameter: 0.15 mm (for 10/16 mm²), 0.20 mm (for 25-210 mm²).
  • Insulation: Special lead-free PVC compound, black, self-extinguishing (UL 94 VO).
  • Insulation properties: Elasticity/stretch 365%, dielectric strength 20 kV/mm, working voltage 1 kV AC / 1.5 kV DC.
  • Temperature range: -20 °C to +105 °C.

Silicone-insulated copper tapes 10-140 mm2
Highly flexible, heat- and cold-resistant insulated flat braids. Conductors made of soft annealed copper ETP1 wires, covered with high-quality, halogen-free silicone. The silicone is extremely flexible.

  • Conductor: Copper ETP1 braid according to DIN 13602, bare, soft annealed.
  • Single wire diameter: 0.16 mm (10 mm²), 0.20 mm (16-140 mm²).
  • Insulation: Silicone rubber approx. 60 Shore A, black (standard), halogen-free (chlorine content < 4 ppm), flame-retardant and self-extinguishing.
  • Insulation properties: Working voltage 1 kV AC / 1.5 kV DC, test voltage 9 kV AC (spark test), dielectric strength 20 kV/mm.
  • Temperature range: -50 °C to +180 °C.
  • Flexibility: Exceptional flexibility.

Highly flexible round stranded copper cables
Made from very thin wires (0.05/0.07 or 0.10 mm), providing excellent flexibility. Suitable for larger cross-sections to carry higher currents in very confined spaces. Large conductor surface for current transmission.

  • Material: Soft annealed copper ETP1 wires according to DIN EN 13602.
  • Single wire diameter: From 0.05 mm to 0.10 mm, depending on cross-section.
  • Surface: Optionally bare or tinned.
  • Flexibility: Excellent flexibility.

Flexible round stranded copper cables
Made of wires with a diameter of 0.3 mm. Suitable for connections without extreme flexibility requirements. Selected rope designs allow good bending and movement characteristics.

  • Material: Soft annealed copper ETP1 wires according to DIN EN 13602.
  • Single wire diameter: 0.3 mm.
  • Surface: Bare.

Round stranded cables with overall copper braid
Highly flexible round copper cable, additionally braided with a copper braid. The extra braid prevents untwisting and keeps the strand compact, serving as reinforcement for increased mechanical stability.

  • Material: Soft annealed copper ETP1 wires according to DIN EN 13602.
  • Single wire diameter: 0.05 mm to 0.10 mm for the cable, 0.10 mm for the braid.
  • Surface: Bare (standard), tinned on request.
  • Special features: Increased mechanical stability.

Highly flexible plait braided copper cables
Made from copper wires (0.07/0.10 mm, highly flexible; 0.20 mm, flexible). The twist-free production process prevents untwisting. Used for switch constructions, relay production, carbon brushes, slip ring applications, railway or aviation industry.

Highly flexible plait braided stainless steel cables
Made from very thin stainless steel wires (0.10 mm). Twist-free production, preventing untwisting. Used where copper materials do not offer sufficient resistance.

Stainless steel ropes with stronger single wires
Stranded as round ropes in 7 x 19 construction (one inner and six outer conductors, each of 19 wires). Focused on breaking strength and outer diameter rather than flexibility.

  • Material: Stainless steel wires, material no. 1.4401.
  • Surface: Bare.
  • Construction: 7 x 19 (one inner, six outer, each with 19 wires).
  • Special features: High breaking strength (min. 1570 N/mm² / 160 kp/mm²).

Extremely flexible silicone-insulated cables
Ideal for high-current connections inside switchboards and similar applications. Optimal solution for power connections in tight spaces. Available as single insulated (1.8/3 kV) and double insulated (1.8/3 kV and 3.6/6 kV). Comply with fire protection per DIN EN 45545 for railway industry. UL style. Available with additional shielding.

High-current TPE-U insulated cables (300/500 V and 450/750 V)
Cables for high-current applications and connecting electrical equipment. The conductor is a round copper cable (0.3 mm wire), insulated with special halogen-free TPE-U. Flexible and easy to install. Large cross-sections (up to 500 mm²) provide an alternative to busbar systems. Standard colors: orange (300/500 V) and green (450/750 V).

  • Conductor: Round stranded copper cables from soft annealed ETP1 wires according to DIN EN 13602, bare, wire Ø 0.3 mm.
  • Insulation: Halogen-free TPE-U.
  • Working voltage U0/U: 300/500 V or 450/750 V.
  • Test voltage: 3.4 kV (300/500 V) or 4.0 kV (450/750 V).
