FLEXA RQDR - intelligent cable management for cobots and small industrial robots

Modern robotics, and collaborative robots (cobots) in particular, place very high demands on flexibility, reliability, and the safety of cable routing. Robots increasingly work in confined spaces, performing repetitive rotational and swiveling movements that can lead to twisting, excessive stress, or premature cable wear. The answer to these challenges is the FLEXA RQDR series of rotary conduit holders.

Safe and Dynamic Cable Routing

The FLEXA RQDR system enables direct, space-saving mounting of corrugated conduits on robot arms without restricting their range of motion. A key element of the solution is the red RQMR-MOVE insert, which, in combination with the rotary base of the holder, compensates for the robot's movements and allows for cable routing without twisting or tension. Combined with high-flexibility ROHRflex® MOVE conduits, the system ensures maximum mobility even in highly dynamic applications.

Three Mounting Variants – Full Application Flexibility

The RQDR series was designed as a modular system, making it easy to adapt to various designs and application requirements:

  • RQDR-PS – variant for mounting on profile rails, ideal for modular systems and flexible positioning on machine structures.
  • RQDR-AP – holder with a mounting plate, designed for permanent and stable screwing to supporting structures.
  • RQDR-KB – version with Velcro fastening, providing maximum freedom and quick, tool-free mounting on robot arms or round profiles.

Each variant offers the same high level of cable mobility and mechanical protection, differing only in the method of attachment.

Durability, Safety, and Standards Compliance

FLEXA RQDR holders are made of durable PA6 polyamide, resistant to impacts and high mechanical loads. The system is suitable for operation in a wide temperature range from –40°C to +120°C, allowing for use in both lightweight robotics and more demanding industrial environments.

The products meet numerous standards and requirements, including:

  • EN 45545-2 (HL3) – fire protection,
  • REACH and RoHS – environmental compliance,
  • self-extinguishing properties,
  • free from silicone, cadmium, and halogens.

As a result, the RQDR system is also suitable for applications with increased safety and reliability requirements.

Quick Assembly and Easy Handling

The application of the FLEXAquick technology enables quick, tool-free mounting of the holders using a practical snap-lock mechanism. This solution significantly shortens installation time and facilitates maintenance or cable replacement, which is crucial in multi-shift production environments.

Applications in Modern Automation

The FLEXA RQDR system is primarily used in:

  • cobots and small industrial robots,
  • cable guidance systems with high movement dynamics,
  • machine and equipment construction,
  • industrial automation,
  • installations requiring flexible mounting without interfering with the robot's structure.

Summary

Thanks to the FLEXA RQDR series, companies gain a reliable, flexible, and future-proof solution for cable routing in robotics. The system combines high mechanical resistance, compliance with standards, and exceptional freedom of movement, which translates into longer cable life, reduced downtime, and greater robot operational safety. It is a solution that genuinely supports the efficiency and stability of modern automation processes.
