A new generation of battery connectors – Industrial Battery Connector (IBC) from Anderson Power

Anderson Power™ sets a new standard in high-current battery connectors with the launch of its Industrial Battery Connector (IBC). Designed for the growing demand in high-performance battery connections, the IBC utilizes a modular cartridge design offered in multiple configurations and a variety of performance enhancing accessories. This allows for industry-leading battery monitoring capabilities, faster charging, reduced downtime, and a market-exclusive IP68 rating, supporting the evolving needs of electrified equipment.
Quick-Install Battery Connectors with Modular Cartridge

The Industrial Battery Connector features a patent-pending modular design with an innovative contact cartridge. The three IBC connector configurations share one housing, and the swappable cartridges are color-coded for quick identification.
The innovative design makes connector assembly and maintenance easier than ever. With a simple click, the contacts can be easily and securely installed on the cartridge outside of the crowded housing. With another simple click, the loaded cartridge can then be easily and securely installed into the housing. The modularity also enables tool-less contact repair or replacement, simplifies connector maintenance, and reduces the number of spare parts needed in stock.
The innovative modular design of the Industrial Battery Connector permits quick and easy assembly.
Additionally, the Industrial Battery Connector includes patent-pending clamps that provide cable strain relief for power wires and - in an industry first - for auxiliary signal wires as well. By reducing tension on the cables, the clamps enhance wire lifespan and deliver consistent connector performance.
Next-Generation Battery Connector Accessories for Durability and Performance
The IBC offers additional industry-leading accessory options, including:
- IP68 Kit: The IBC is the first DIN high-power battery connector on the market to offer an IP68-rated weatherproof kit accessory. Engineered to withstand harsh environments, the patent-pending kit seals the IBC against moisture and debris intrusion while mated — delivering unmatched durability for outdoor applications. The IP68 accessory is available for the four signal, six signal, and ten signal IBC configurations.
- Contact Temperature Sensing Enablement: In another first for a high-powered battery connector, the IBC’s patent-pending contact temperature sensing accessory helps prevent contacts from overheating during power transfer and enhances safety, reliability, and performance.
- Latching Handle: The spring-loaded latch handle accessory ensures a secure mechanical connection, preventing accidental disconnection between the plug and receptacle. This accessory is available across all series and configurations.

“The Industrial Battery Connector and its exciting, patent-pending accessories reflect our in-house innovation and deep understanding of what our customers want in the next generation of battery connectors,” said Jon Norton, General Manager at Anderson Power. “From the IP68 rated kit to its capability for up to 10 auxiliary connections, this high-powered connector is packed with exclusive features built to power the future of electric equipment.”
IBC Housing Options: Plug, Receptacle, and Panel Mount Configurations
The Industrial Battery Connector is perfect for charging high-power electric applications. Available in plug, receptacle, and panel mount configurations, the connector offers versatile installation options.
The panel mount configuration is an exclusive Anderson Power offering that delivers a compact mounting solution for tight spaces. The panel mount is offered across all series, while the busbar contact is available for the panel mount receptacle only. The panel mount can be paired with the IP68 sealing kit for the ultimate outdoor connection solution.
Engineered to meet stringent industry standards for reliable performance (including DIN VDE 0623-589, RoHS, UL1977, CSA 22.2, IEC 60529, and EN1175:2020), the connector supports:
- Durability for a minimum of 5,000 mating cycles
- UL94 V0 flammability rating
- Operating temperature range from 20°C to 105°C
- Hot-plug capability (200 to 800A at 96V per EN1175-1)
- Touch-safety (IP20 per IEC 60529)
- IP68 weatherproof rating (with IP68 Kit)
IBC Series Sizes and Configurations for Forklift Charging Solutions

The Industrial Battery Connector is available in three sizes/series — 80, 160, and 320 Series. Depending on the selected size, the connector is rated from 70 to 450A with configurations that offer up to ten auxiliary signals. The different models and their associated configurations include:
- 80 Series (70-200A): Available with four auxiliary signals.
- 160 Series (80-270A): Available in configurations that support four auxiliary signals, two auxiliary signals with air tubes, or up to six auxiliary signals.
- 320 Series (165-450A): Available in configurations that support four auxiliary signals, two auxiliary signals with air tubes, or up to ten auxiliary signals.
“We designed the Industrial Battery Connector with flexibility in mind, so manufacturers and engineers can choose the configuration that best fits their specific equipment needs,” said Joe Ferris, Market Segment Manager at Anderson Power. “With support for up to ten signals, temperature sensing, and an IP68 rating, the IBC gives users powerful battery monitoring capabilities to help track battery health, enable faster charging, and extend overall battery lifespan indoors and outdoors.”
