SBSX-75A - a new line of APP products ready to cope with difficult working conditions

Anderson Power Products has extensive experience in developing products for lead-acid and lithium-ion battery technology. The manufacturer, based on the success of the reliable SBS series, introduces a new line of components to the market, whose task will be to provide protection in harsh conditions. SBSX-75A sealed high-current connectors will find use in applications that require high power, signaling and waterproof protection.

The recently presented SBSX-75A series is distinguished primarily by the IP68 protection degree, which guarantees a high level of water resistance (up to 30 minutes in a 180 cm immersion) and protects the connector against dust. The protection is created in the mated condition, or with the use of covers in the unmated condition. In addition, the connector is equipped with two power contacts, which, together with up to four auxiliary contacts, can withstand a current of up to 135 A. The connectors of this series can successfully use wires with a cross-section of 2.5 to 25 mm² (12 - 4 AWG). The auxiliary devices, on the other hand, allow the use of a cable with a cross-section ranging from 0.5 to 1.5 mm² (24 - 14 AWG).

SBSX-75A series connectors are also equipped with positive metal latches, which effectively protect against accidental disconnection caused by vibrations. The built-in cable clamp also allows for strain relief. The system of marking the components used in the series prevents incorrect voltage adjustment, and the construction of the connectors makes them impact-resistant and reduces the risk of electric shock. The whole structure is able to withstand up to 5000 mating cycles and can work without any problems in the temperature range from -20 to 105°C (flammability class UL94 V-0).
