Highly flexible, shielded copper cables with silicone insulation are advanced solutions designed for high-current applications where maximum flexibility, operational reliability, and effective protection against electromagnetic interference are essential. The use of silicone insulation combined with high-quality copper shielding makes these cables ideally suited for extreme environmental conditions, offering a very wide temperature range, excellent chemical resistance, and full compliance with current safety and environmental regulations.

Characteristics of highly flexible shielded cables

Highly flexible copper cables with silicone insulation (10–300 mm²)
The cables are manufactured from very finely stranded copper wires, ensuring exceptional flexibility and long service life even under frequent movement and vibration.

  • Conductors made of pure copper Cu-ETP1 with individual wire diameters of 0.07 mm (10–16 mm²) or 0.10 mm (25–300 mm²).
  • Silicone insulation resistant to temperatures from -50 °C to +180 °C.
  • Resistance to short-term overloads and short-circuit temperatures up to +350 °C.
  • Halogen-free material according to IEC 60754-1 and self-extinguishing in accordance with DIN IEC 60332-1-2.

Effective shielding for high electromagnetic compatibility
Each cable is equipped with a tinned copper braided shield with a coverage of ≥ 85%, providing effective protection against EMI and ensuring stable power transmission in industrial applications.

  • Braided shield made of tinned copper wires with diameters from 0.15 mm to 0.25 mm, depending on the cross-section.
  • Optional version with an additional foil layer to further enhance shielding effectiveness.
  • High mechanical strength and durability in environments with increased EMC requirements.

Construction and outer sheath
The outer silicone sheath protects the cable against mechanical, thermal, and chemical influences while maintaining full flexibility.

  • Standard color: orange with printed marking.
  • Other colors (black, red, blue) available on request.
  • Bending radius: 5 × D for fixed installation and 10 × D for flexible movement.

Electrical parameters
The cables are designed for high-current and high-voltage applications and meet stringent testing requirements.

  • Rated voltage: 1.8/3 kV (0.6/1 kV versions available on request).
  • Test voltage: conductor to shield 7.0 kV AC; conductor and shield 10 kV AC.
  • Available cross-sections: from 10 mm² to 300 mm².
  • Compliant with REACH and RoHS directives.

Accessories and assembly
The manufacturer also offers dedicated cable lugs and professional assembly tools, perfectly matched to the highly flexible cable design.

  • Cable lugs optimized for finely stranded copper conductors.
  • Tools ensuring durable and repeatable connections.
  • Easy installation and high long-term reliability of electrical connections.

The effectiveness of EMC shielding in practice: combining Druseidt silicone cable and Pflitsch EMC cable glands
Effective EMC protection in industrial machinery depends on the physical continuity between the cable shield and the enclosure entry point. By pairing high-density braided cables with 360-degree compression glands, installers can achieve superior noise suppression without the mechanical stiffness of traditional foil-wrapped alternatives. This integrated approach ensures both signal integrity and the long-term durability required for dynamic, high-vibration applications
